Gaining experience through doing is a good way to sharpen skills you already have. One way to do this is through volunteering.

I have volunteered my services on several occasions. Not only is it rewarding to help someone in need but, I’ve also been able to sharpen the skills that I already have as well as pick up some new skills. I find volunteering very rewarding and fulfilling.

I work full time outside the home as well as run a part time virtual assistance business. I have very little time to volunteer onsite, even though I would love to. On the other hand, I also want to give back and help others that are less fortunate than I am. My solution has been virtual volunteering.

Here I sit on another Saturday working at my desk. I’m taking a break right now and thought I’d check in to see who else was working today.

I work every Saturday so this is nothing new for me. Actually I love working on Saturdays, that’s how I secured my first client, she was looking for someone to provide support after normal business hours. Yep, that’s me, I work nights and weekends. I have always been a night owl, I even worked the graveyard shift doing data entry in the banking industry for about six months.
