My Business Needs Laser Focus

Published by Yolanda under Business, Virtual Assistance

I haven’t abandoned my blog, I’ve just been busy focusing on my business growth strategies for the New Year.

As I mentioned in an earlier post. I’m now working with a business coach and boy is she great! Here’s a list of what I’m working on this month.

  • Designing my new blogsite. Yep, I’m changing the name of my Virtual Assistance Business from Yolie’s Place to something more expressive of what I actually do.
  • Working on my Newsletter content and getting everything loaded into Aweber. The newsletter will start with the launch of my new site.

Why Did You Decide To Work From Home?

Home Office
I started my business by accident. I was working in the suburbs, living in the city, and sick of the commute. After a particularly
long four hour commute because of a snow storm, I gave three weeks notice the next day.

My boss asked me to stay until she found someone. I agreed and started my job search (I gave notice before I had a job, I was just fed up).

To make a long story short, she hadn’t found anyone after three weeks and I’d already secured another position. She asked me If I could work weekends to help out until she found someone. I agreed and traveled to my old job every weekend for an additional three weeks.

Do You Have A Business Coach?

Published by Yolanda under Business, Virtual Assistance

business coachingI do. I’ve enrolled in Erin Blaskie’s group coaching session which started January 16th. I went back and forth on whether or not to sign up for the eight week coaching.

Why? I never thought I needed someone to tell me how to run my business. After all, it’s my business so I can run it the way I want.

Boy was I wrong, coaching is not about TELLING you what to do. It’s about HELPING you do the things you want to do. You see the difference?
