Do You Censor Your Blog Posts?
I’ve been having back problems all week, I don’t know what is going on, I just know that sleeping on a heating pad at night seems to help. The pain is in the lower part of my back…maybe it’s just old age.
Today is the first day that I’ve felt like my old self and decided to catch up on my blog reads. In doing so, I came across an interesting post by Tishia Lee. First, let me start by saying that I absolutely love Tishia’s blog. I love her frankness and her sense of humor. Even though I’ve never met her and she has no idea who I am, I feel as If I’ve known Tishia for years just from reading her blog. Tishia is very open and honest and I love it!
I guess one of Tishia’s other readers doesn’t feel that way and thinks that Tishia is too real when it comes to her blog postings. I agree with Tishia, If you don’t like what’s being written then you should stop reading.
It got me to thinking…do I censor my blog posts? There have been times when I’ve hit the backspace key because I thought that what I was typing was too dorky or not worth reading.
I think personal blogs should be about personal things and anyone who is reading a personal blog should expect that.
Do you have a personal blog? If so, do you find that you censor your blog posts to protect the innocent (your family)? I’ve visited blogs where the children’s faces are blacked out to protect their identity. I think it’s up to the individual whether or not they want to censor their blog.
Do you censor your blog posts at all? If so, what won’t you write about on your blog?

First let me say that I hope your back pain goes away! Back pain has got to be one of the worst pains to deal with!
Next let me say thank you Yolanda for your kind words
It’s kind of funny how we can make ‘connections’ with people we’ve never met but yet feel so close to them, I love it. I’m not changing anything about my blog postings and those who don’t like my openness just need to move on. That’s the idea behind a personal blog. When I read other blogs that’s what helps me connect with them - their openness about personal life issues. Obviously a business blog is a different thing & I’m not looking for those personal life issues in that kind of blog.
Tishia,
Don’t change a thing! Your REAL readers love your blog just the way it is.
I have to admit that I do find myself senoring my blog posts a bit. My mother tends to log on and read some of my posts. I know its dumb and I am an adult but I still find myself leaving out some things just for the fear she might read it.
I found your blog through MommyFest. Though it was over weeks ago, I’m still enjoying meeting others and finding some awesome blogs.
Now, I’m off to enter that contest of Kelly’s
Audreys last blog post..Salads
Hi Stephanie,
At least your mom reads your blog! My mom has absolutely no computer skills. I don’t even think she knows what a blog is.
Hey there Audrey,
Welcome to my little corner of the world…..I had a blast at MommyFest!
