Blogging Tips
I’m pretty new to blogging so I’ve been trying to brush up on my “blogging etiquette”. I’ve picked up a lot of tips along the way and decided to share what I’ve learned so far with you. Please note that I’m still working on implementing these tips for my blog as well.
Tip #1
Blog often. The experts (full time bloggers) suggest blogging often to build readership.
Tip #2
Offer email subscriptions. Most blogs tend to focus on RSS subscribers, but a large percentage of internet users aren’t yet familiar with RSS.
Tip #3
Have an about me page. Let your readers know who you are.
Tip # 4
Write for yourself. Use your blog as a place to think out loud about things that interest you.
Tip # 5
Read others blogs. Link to those that interest you.
Tip # 6
Interact with your readers. Make sure you allow comments and when someone comments reply back.
Tip #7
Content is King. The success of your blog will directly relate to the quality of content on your blog.
Tip #8
Submit your blog to search engines and directories. This is a good place to start.
Tip #9
Titles are crucial. There are several reasons that the title of your post is so important. One is that readers will be drawn to what you have to say if your title piques their interest.
Tip #10
Comment on others blogs and in Forums. The relationships you form here will become the meat and potatoes of most beginning bloggers’ traffic.
Happy Blogging!
